Duke Slammer is my new musical obsession. What's so odd about it is that he's a current, modern artist. I curate vintage soul from the 70's to 90's and typically have nothing to do with new music but Duke Slammer really has gotten my attention, he's the real deal.
He incorporates old school funk and soul in everything he does. Based in the U.K., you can catch him this year at the Glade Festival, Play Fest, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Moscow and all the funkiest establishments of the U.K.
His brand new LP, Spandex comes out on May 1st, I encourage everyone to get it. It's a refreshing take on the vintage soul that I can't get enough of.
