Whether they realize it or not, economists Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson are constructal theorists. Their new book, Why Nations Fail, "answers the question that has stumped the experts for centuries: Why are some nations rich and others poor" and then goes on to, "conclusively show that it is man-made political and economic institutions that underlie economic success (or the lack of it)." So it's not the landscape, it's the flow configuration, just as Adrian Bejan's Constructal Law predicts.
